Back-to-School Bash and Pep Rally at Magnolia Mall - August 12, 2017
Location: Magnolia Mall; 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

This event offers fun for the whole family and features over 20 vendors, six radio stations, door prizes and school spirit awards, Kid’s Zone games, and entertainment. Attendees can also register for a chance win $250 Magnolia Mall shopping spree.

The Kentucky Headhunters - August 12, 2017

Solar Eclipse Viewing - August 21, 2017

FMU Griffin Athletic Complex; 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Join Francis Marion University's Dooley Planetarium at the Griffin Athletic Complex for this once in a lifetime eclipse viewing experience. The totality will occur at 2:45 p.m. The event if free, and guests may bring a picnic lunch. For information call 843-661-1381. The event is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.

Solar Eclipse Viewing Party - August 21, 2017

The Florence County Library; 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Experience the awe of the solar eclipse at the Florence County Library on Monday, Aug. 21. Library branches will be providing eclipse viewing glasses to youth in 5K through 12th grade from Monday, Aug. 14 through Monday, Aug 21, while supplies last.

Children and teens under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult 18 or older. The adult will be responsible for making sure the children/teens in their party view the eclipse safely. Greenberg Children’s Library at 843-292-7382. The event is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.

Florence After Five: Grains of Sand - August 25, 2017

Dargan Street between Evans and Cheves Streets in Historic Downtown; 5:30 PM

Florence Downtown Development Corporation is proud to offer Florence After Five on the last Friday of every month, April through October. Admission is free, and food and beverages can be purchased with tickets bought at the ticket booth. Click here for more information.

Florence Film Society’s Florence Short Film Showcase - August 26, 2017

Dolce Vita Cafe; 7:00 PM

If you’re a fan of short films, then join The Florence Film Society for their presentation of the Florence Short Film Showcase at Dolce Vita Cafe in Downtown florence.

This free event features four short films written and directed by Florence area filmmakers. After the presentation, the audience are invited to participate in a panel discussion and Q&A with the filmmakers.

Darlington Car Hauler Parade - August 31, 2017
Location:
Florence Civic Center; 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Labor Day is just around the corner, which means it's time for the 13th Annual Darlington Car Hauler Parade and Festival. Attendees will enjoy entertainment and live music, and children can play for free at the Kids Zone which features inflatable rides, games, and a bungee jump. Julia Belle's will be providing food for purchase with funds going to support Camp Pee Dee Pride.

Best of all, race fans young and old can see the different transporters up close and take photos with their favorite team's hauler and driver. There is even a chance you could ride along in a big rig during the parade.

The parade will begin at 7 PM, with the transporters proceeding to RaceFest at the Darlington Square, which will feature additional entertainment, food, a car show and fireworks. The parade will conclude at the Darlington Racetrack Too Tough to Tame where they can begin preparation for the Bojangles Southern 500 race.

2017 South Carolina Tobacco Festival in Lake City - September 7 - 10, 2017

The Village Green, 133 E. Main Street, Lake City

This year’s Tobacco Festival will feature carnival rides, a Kids Zone, live music on Friday and Saturday evening, a car show, watermelon carving & seed spitting contests, tobacco heritage demonstrations, food and arts and crafts vendors.

13th Annual Pamplico Cypress Festival - September 15 - 16, 2017

The event features a variety of private, pawn and retail vendors offering a wide selection of firearms, accessories, and collectors items.
